- Chris Vaughn was Born October 12, 1966 in Cullman Alabama and grew up in rural Winston
County, Alabama. His love for music began at a very young age; His earlier years were around bluegrass and gospel music.
Because of his unique voice and extroardinary talent, Chris Vaughn has never been forgotten by anyone who heard him sing.
He truly believes that next to God, your family comes first. The love and support from his wife, Melissa and his son Daniel, along with his step-children Bridgette, Lindsay, and Jeremy has not only encouraged his music but has also been an inspiration for his song writing.
Landon Taylor who is a long-time friend of Chris', was instrumental in getting Chris an audition as bass player for Clay Walker. For three years he played bass guitar and sang back-up for Clay and on many occasions actually opened the show for him. For a country boy, touring and traveling over the entire United States and Canada was a dream come true. He then played bass and sang back-up for Wade Hayes for a couple of years.
Chris has played most every major venue in the U.S. and Canada. While playing with Clay Walker he appeared on Countdown at the Neon Armadillo, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Crook and Chase, Music City Tonight, Nashville Now, The Ryman and The Grand Ole Opry. He has also appeared in Clay Walker's Video "If I Could Make A Living Out of Loving You".Chris has also appeared on TV shows promoting his music since the age of 11. The Country Boy Eddie Show (1979) Country Connections TV 55 (2006) Nashville On Stage (2007) Ion Network.
In the fall of 2003, Chris and his wonderfully supportive wife, Melissa, managed a plan for him to devote his time to completing the album he so desperately wanted to record. Because of the sacrifices they were willing to make, he completed the album in 2004. All the songs (except In Memory of a Memory by Johnny Paycheck) are original and are performed on the CD by Chris with his sister Charlie singing harmony. The arrangements are also by Chris. These songs are "real country" the way country songs are supposed to sound.
You only need to listen to the Chris' music to appreciate his talent as a singer and as a songwriter. He is truly the definition of the word "artist".

At any rate I have taken your advice and am concentrating a little more on my song writing!
Have had a few on line Record Labels offer me an association with their label to put my music on it, however most of them don't seem to be too aggressive!
Maybe I am better off to represent myself as an Indie right now!
I actually got my first cheque for CD sales from CDBaby.com last week!
However, I certainly am glad I'm not in this business to get rich quick! {:>)
I also did as you said and created a slide video on my own, so now I have them posted on You Tube, My Space, Google, Soundclick.com and on this website as well as a few others!
I guess it is ok may be able to broadcast my work to potential new audiences this way!
I need to learn pentacle so I can learn to insert live clips of us playing gigs in the video!
I see you are doing well as I run accross your works on many websites on the net!
This business is what it is I guess and surely it is going through a transition of change as they used to say the wheels sure turn slow in "Country Music"!
Well now a days what used to be slow has slowed down to half the old speed as the RIAA and CRIA up here in Canada are interfering with Indie's carreers and major record labels are cutting back on artists, not signing new ones!
However, as far as you and your music is concerned I believe that your music is honed to the point that it surely deserves major distribution and promotion, as unless I just never understood anything in this business - your songs, style and music just doesn't get any better than that and your talent is right up there with all the great ones!
But then again, as you once wrote to me - we can't allow it to get the best of us as look at what happened to Jimmy, Hank, Johnny, Elvis, Lefty, Gary Stewart and a whole host of others that probably would fill this page!
I have joined an outfit called, "Boycott the RIAA," as I realize mainstream radio and media is not going to do anything to promote our music, so I'll work hard with the internet system while we have it as it is really the only public broadcasting system I have to let the world hear our music!
Even rooms that hire, Hard Country," performers are dwindling badly up here in Canada!
They are having the Canadian Country Music awards here in Winnipeg this weekend and the only real Country act they have in it is George Canyon!
So I don't even bother going down to the MTS Centre as it is a show of Pop and rock music!
I just don't fit with these folks! Maybe I should retire but I'm too "ornery" to do that!
